One Month!

Happy One Month Michael! While I am sure it was short for you, your parents have officially labeled the month of December as The Longest Month Ever.
Dad put his hand up to show everyone just how small (or big!) Michael is. He is wearing a 3-mo PJ set though and eating like a horse. We're sure we'll have to soon begin selling off our possessions (never the TV though!) to buy more formula.

Holy Holly's Visit

This week Mom came to visit for a few days. And thank goodness she has! Last night I only got up once and was back in bed after only an hour because she took over getting Michael back to sleep. Jon and I have agreed that Michael is a stinker because he conspires to be the perfect child when we have company. When they leave, however, he morphs into discontentment. He's a very social child.

In any case, during her visit we learned two very important lessons.

1) Vibrating Baby Papasan = Best. Invention. Ever.

and 2) Even Grammy needs her rest!

But despite Michael's deviousness, I wouldn't trade him for all the adorableness in the world of this:
Meet Lucy and Lacy, Mom and Dad's new cocker spaniel puppies. I love my baby :)

In other news we went to the pediatrician yesterday and Michael has regained the 1+ pound he lost since leaving the hospital and is back within 2 ounces of his birth weight. He sleeps much better these days and generally a happier baby each and every day. Thank God!

I'm sure we'll add more later, but for now here is a photo of Michael Lee Becher, born November 30th at 3:09am. He weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces.

Christmas Before Thanksgiving?

Usually Jon and I dislike decorating for Christmas before Thanksgiving ... wait ... to start again, we really, really hate Christmas before Thanksgiving. We need turkey first! But this year we figured with Baby Becher arriving soon and the warm-ish weather we were having today that we'd better get started. But I forgot to figure in the fact that at 39 weeks and a few days I have absolutely no energy. I want a professional decorator!

Last Wednesday the doctor said everything looked "normal" and "progressing nicely". I should be satisfied with those pronouncements but I must admit I really hoped I would go in there and she would tell me I was crowning or something :)

Next appointment on Wednesday and Thanksgiving at Chris and Michelle's house this year. Here's hoping baby comes tomorrow and I still get turkey on Thursday!

The Things He Does

... When he thinks we aren't watching.

This is from last week. That's my kitchen table, my favorite table cloth and sweater.

This is from last night. That's my kitchen table and Jon's cooler (that was zipped).

He just laid there and let me take pictures instead of jumping down and acting like he'd done something wrong. In fact, he slept through most of the pictures. I'm afaid we might have spoiled him.

In doctor news, Jon and I went yesterday and things are progressing nicely. No issues, perfectly healthy (except for a nasty sore throat/stuffy nose combo). I'm sticking with my Tuesday Nov 18th date. But Jon is certain it's the 20th.

Snowmen = Nesting

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas ... Um, no, it isn't. Or it shouldn't be because it's November 9th. November 9th. And yet the stores are well decorated, the Salvation Army is out in force and yesterday in Kroger Jon and I heard Jingle Bells over the loud speaker.

And I cannot resist, apparently, the lure of snowmen. Especially the "marshmallow" variety. Hence, my first Christmas purchase of the year. Usually I hate Christmas things before Thanksgiving, believing that by the time Dec 25th rolls around I'll be suffering from good will towards men overkill but this year I don't seem to mind.

Maybe I really am nesting. Jon seems to think so.

18 days. Just 18.

The Pool Is Open Kids

Do you like to gamble? Do you have five dollars just burning a hole in your pocket?

Join the Baby Becher Betting Pool. When will he get here? Five bucks gets you a guess, winner take all. Scroll down to the bottom for a look at the calendar.

But really, you should all just save your money because as the Baby Mama I KNOW this kid is coming November 18th. I mean, really, why would he want to stay in there any longer? Shouldn't he want to come out and meet his mama and daddy? Please Baby ... get here, get here, get here!

Where was I?

Oh right. If you want in, just call Gina or I and we'll get you set up. We'll be taking money right up until Due Day!
